{Cade} Newborn

I spent my morning with 4-week old Cade for his newborn session. This guy is going to be a heartbreaker someday!!! He is absolutely beautiful! We were initially worried he would be a tad fussy, but he was a trooper! As long as he was warm, clean, and fed, he didn't make a peep.  Here are some photos from the future heartbreaker.  :)

{The Doyle Family}

Fort Wayne photographer, Heather Doyle of Markus Rae Photography, came to me to get some head-shots and portraits for an article that a local newspaper is writing about her business.  While she was here, we snapped a few family photos too.  The lighting could not have been more perfect, but-oh boy-was it humid!!!  Her little guy, Camdyn, was not impressed with me or my camera, but I managed to steal a few shots from him. :)  It was a pleasure to finally meet Heather and her family after many weeks of online communication!  Camdyn has huge, heart-melting, eyes and the prettiest curls in his hair....Heather's photos will speak for themselves regarding how pretty she is!  Check out Heather's work at www.markusraephotography.com.

4th of July

ShutterLoveTuesdays

My Kalman LOVED the 4th of July spectacles!!  Yes, he has no shirt (he was hot). Yes, he is playing with fire (literally). Yes, he was CLOSELY supervised. Yes, I almost had a heart attack. Yes, this was Dad's idea.

My Sweet Kalman Is Turning Two...

This is very cliche, but time moves so much faster after you have children and kiddos grow up in the blink of an eye.  This is year number two of me saying, "I cannot believe how fast the past year went and how fast Kalman is growing up!" My sweet Kalman is turning 2 on July 22nd.

Over the past few months, Kalman's personality has really started to show.  He is a walking, (sorta) talking, mischievous, quirky, giggly, cuddly, "mini-me."  He REALLY REALLY REALLY likes to help clean and gets a bit dramatic if he spills something.  He can get in/out of almost any childproof area (he almost has the locks on the cabinets figured out).  He likes to sing the Alphabet Song while doing the dance to The Itsy Bitsy Spider.  He loves riding his tricycle and is completely fine with being outside ALL day riding it back and forth across the driveway.  He is a daddy's boy, but he knows mom means business and will always come to me when he needs something.   He has a love-hate relationship with our dog, Hunter.  Hunter has a hate-hate relationship with him.  :)  Kalman's favorite things on the entire planet are: his "Peta" (aka blanket that never leaves his side), balloons, balls, his bike, bagels with cream cheese, baths, and bananas.  Do you see a trend?  He loves the bath, but refuses to swim in a pool or splash in a sprinkler. I love to hear Kalman's voice when he talks, so sometimes I will ask him a question that I know he won't like just so I can hear him say, "Noooo, mommy."  It is almost as cute as when he says, in his mousy, "Help, mommy."

In the past year, Kalman has gone from scooting on his bottom as his main form of mobility to walking/running/jumping.  He has gone from a 3 word vocabulary to a 25+word vocabulary and is attempting 3-word phrases.  He has gone from letting me feed him to adamantly refusing me feeding him because he can "do it himself" (this is true for many of his activities).  I can probably keep going, but I will show some pictures instead (which is why you came here, right??).  :)  He does not like getting his picture taken and runs when he sees me get my camera out, but here are the best results from my stressful session with him.

{Paul and Leah} Engagement

For Paul and Leah's engagement session, we spent the morning at a summer camp where Paul is currently the Program Director.  The setting was perfect for them!  They were so much fun to meet and are one of the most laid back, fun, couples I have had the opportunity to photograph!  During our two-hour session, I really got to know Paul and Leah and am VERY excited to be shooting their wedding at the same location in a few weeks.  I found out that both plan to be teachers someday--Leah plans to teach middle school age kiddos (brave women!) and Paul plans to teach high school P.E.  I also found out that Paul likes to arrange his LEGOs into "action" poses at night before he goes to bed (and that is completely normal, right?).  :)  Truthfully, I really like this couple and their positive, fun, laid-back attitude is contagious. Below are a few of the many photos from their Saturday morning session.  Stay tuned for pictures from there wedding in a few weeks!  Enjoy!

Leah has the prettiest skin and eyes!!!
