This is very cliche, but time moves so much faster after you have children and kiddos grow up in the blink of an eye. This is year number two of me saying, "I cannot believe how fast the past year went and how fast Kalman is growing up!" My sweet Kalman is turning 2 on July 22nd.
Over the past few months, Kalman's personality has really started to show. He is a walking, (sorta) talking, mischievous, quirky, giggly, cuddly, "mini-me." He REALLY REALLY REALLY likes to help clean and gets a bit dramatic if he spills something. He can get in/out of almost any childproof area (he almost has the locks on the cabinets figured out). He likes to sing the Alphabet Song while doing the dance to The Itsy Bitsy Spider. He loves riding his tricycle and is completely fine with being outside ALL day riding it back and forth across the driveway. He is a daddy's boy, but he knows mom means business and will always come to me when he needs something. He has a love-hate relationship with our dog, Hunter. Hunter has a hate-hate relationship with him. :) Kalman's favorite things on the entire planet are: his "Peta" (aka blanket that never leaves his side), balloons, balls, his bike, bagels with cream cheese, baths, and bananas. Do you see a trend? He loves the bath, but refuses to swim in a pool or splash in a sprinkler. I love to hear Kalman's voice when he talks, so sometimes I will ask him a question that I know he won't like just so I can hear him say, "Noooo, mommy." It is almost as cute as when he says, in his mousy, "Help, mommy."
In the past year, Kalman has gone from scooting on his bottom as his main form of mobility to walking/running/jumping. He has gone from a 3 word vocabulary to a 25+word vocabulary and is attempting 3-word phrases. He has gone from letting me feed him to adamantly refusing me feeding him because he can "do it himself" (this is true for many of his activities). I can probably keep going, but I will show some pictures instead (which is why you came here, right??). :) He does not like getting his picture taken and runs when he sees me get my camera out, but here are the best results from my stressful session with him.
